He currently works under Grammy-winning mixing engineer Jaycen Joshua as part of The Penua Project, contributing to records for some of the world’s biggest artists. In 2025, Luc Lavigne achieved a series of career-defining milestones, including a 1× Platinum certification for Heart of a Woman by Summer Walker, which has accumulated nearly 140 million streams worldwide. That same year, his work on Ricky Martin and Carin León’s A Medio Vivir generated over 30 million streams in a single month, highlighting strong global reach across multiple markets.
Luc also contributed to over ten albums in 2025, including Summer Walker’s long-awaited Finally Over It, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Born and raised in the coastal town of Melkbosstrand, South Africa, I developed a deep passion for music at an early age. By age five, I was already learning drums, guitar, and piano. Over the years, my musical journey expanded from instrumentalism to music production, where I found my true calling in crafting songs through recording, mixing, and mastering.
After earning a scholarship to study at the prestigious Musicians Institute in Hollywood, I came to Los Angeles in 2022, where I graduated with an "Associate in Science of Studio Recording".
Since moving to Hollywood, I've had the privilege of working in iconic studios like Chalice Recording, Paramount Studios, East West Studios, and Sunset Sound, contributing to major projects for record labels such as Sony Music, Interscope, and Def Jam.
